Department Summary:The Quantum Information Science, Optics and Imaging Department will provide innovative solutions to address new opportunities and challenges associated with emerging technologies.
We have a strong foundation of technical expertise across these technologies that our sponsors can draw upon to develop new capabilities and assess their vulnerabilities.
Roles & Responsibilities:- Perform and lead research in quantum sensing, computing, networking, and related quantum technologies.
- Advise and educate our government sponsors on all aspects of quantum information technology and their potential applications.
- Develop technical benchmarks, metrics, roadmaps, and other frameworks to help our sponsors better understand, plan for, and engage with quantum technologies.
- Explore additional new or emerging technologies that may be of interest to The MITRE Corporation and our sponsors.
Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD plus 3 years of relevant experience.
Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
Deep understanding and demonstrated research expertise in quantum computing, sensing, and/or communications.
The ability to manage and pursue new opportunities to meet sponsor requirements in a collaborative environment with both internal and external researchers.
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:PhD in Physics, Quantum Technologies, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in growing, developing, and leading quantum information projects.
This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): None.
This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Secret.
