Staff Nurse-PAC Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse-PAC to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our patients in a comfortable and person-centered setting.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and address physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms, selecting and performing therapeutic measures to execute the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans for patients, ensuring continuity of care and effective execution of the nursing regimen.
- Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes, interpreting and reporting patient responses to the healthcare team.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team planning to provide comprehensive patient care, determining and assigning nursing regimen components for allied nursing personnel.
- Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel, interpreting and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
- Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences, contributing to policy development and interpretation affecting nursing practice.
- Interpret agency philosophy and objectives to patients, families, and other groups, maintaining professional competence through continuing education and learning experiences.
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Holds or obtains a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
For assignments in Post-Acute Care, individuals meeting specific criteria may be considered for appointment, including graduation from a nursing education program registered by the New York State Education Department and application for licensure as an RN. Unlicensed individuals may be employed to practice under the supervision of a licensed RN for up to 90 days pending receipt of a limited permit, which must be applied for and received within the same period. Once a limited permit is received, individuals can practice nursing under the supervision of a licensed RN at a NYC Health + Hospitals healthcare setting for up to one year from the date of issuance of the limited permit. In addition, must hold or obtain a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
