MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging studies using a magnetic resonance imaging device, preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, and performing computer processing and displaying images.
Key Responsibilities- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
- Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional information about patient medical history as necessary to ensure a safe procedure.
- Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock, including linen and related supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and perform MRI scans.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
- Administer contrast and monitor patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures.
- Ensure adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
- Assist radiologists in performing complex diagnostic procedures, such as biopsies.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Maintain required hours of continued education.
- Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
- Two years of experience in Radiography recommended but not mandatory.
- Registered with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) with the advanced ARRT registry in MRI or registry eligible.
- If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire. Failure to obtain registry within the designated time frame will result in termination of the Magnetic Resonance Technologist position.
