Certified Peer Support Specialist

The Peer Support Specialist is a vital member of our Assertive Community Treatment team, providing supportive services to clients with severe and disabling mental illnesses. This role requires a strong understanding of recovery-based principles and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other clinical voices.
A successful Peer Support Specialist has life experience in persistent mental illness and has participated in mental health services that led to recovery or rehabilitation. This position involves working one-on-one with clients to remove barriers, celebrate victories, and focus on stabilization and integration.
The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, demonstrating good work ethic, fairness, flexibility, and commitment to direct and appropriate communications. They will also be responsible for completing documentation, checking in with clients, and providing medication prompts, among other tasks.
Our team uses a wrap-around care approach to support clients and team members, promoting client healing, self-determination, education, and awareness around mental health.

Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
Certified by the Montana Board of Behavioral Health (CBHPSS)
Must demonstrate sustained & stable recovery for a period of at least 2 years
Ability to pass background check and driver's license check upon offer of employment
Provide proof of auto liability insurance coverage per Western's policies
Montana Driver's License with good driving record
Preferred experience: one year's experience working in the mental health field
