We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at the California State Prison-Corcoran. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care to inmates/patients, collaborating with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care to inmates/patients, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and providing emotional support.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct health assessments, take vital signs, and document patient information.
- Participate in the development and implementation of educational programs for patients and staff.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Valid, active license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in California.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working in a correctional setting or with a similar population.
- Knowledge of correctional healthcare policies and procedures.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to changing situations.
