Position Summary:

The Harris County Auditor's Office is in search of an experienced Senior Auditor to enhance the Internal Audit Division's Technology Audit Department. In this role, you will oversee audits of information systems and technology frameworks to ensure data security and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and report on technology audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal regulations.
  • Perform risk evaluations and formulate strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Generate comprehensive audit reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Foster collaborative relationships within the organization.
  • Remain informed about the latest IT audit practices and standards.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, information technology, or a related discipline
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, CPA, or CISSP
  • Preferred CIA certification or a commitment to obtain it

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in IT auditing

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong project management capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of security controls and IT audit methodologies
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and policies
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software

Work Environment:

  • Ability to maintain a seated position for extended durations
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Hybrid work schedule, 40 hours per week
