Responsibilities
As we expand our manufacturing capabilities, we are seeking a seasoned Lead Manager, Supply Chain Strategy to spearhead the development of our electrical supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in industrial power distribution systems, power electronics, and electrical assemblies. In this pivotal role, you will drive strategic initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate across departments to optimize planning, sourcing, cost efficiency, and product delivery while ensuring compliance and quality standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Guide and mentor team members in strategic planning, cost management, and contract negotiations, embodying a player-coach approach.
- Formulate and execute effective sourcing and commodity strategies to support high-volume production.
- Engage with executives and stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and drive impactful results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate supplier selection and contract negotiations.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure cost savings and favorable terms, aligning with strategic goals from initial research and development to long-term manufacturing agreements.
- Conduct thorough spend analysis, supplier stratification, and market research to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance through regular business reviews and governance meetings.
- Establish a Management Operating System (MOS) and key performance metrics to identify challenges, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement in technology, quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and cost.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred. Certification as a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is advantageous.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in supply chain roles, including at least 5 years in a management capacity leading cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills with a proven track record in developing and managing complex supplier contracts for cost efficiency and favorable terms.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and automated assembly processes; Six Sigma and LEAN certifications are a plus.
- Proficient in drafting RFxs and guiding teams through intricate RFx projects.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
