Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. As a key member of our pediatric care team, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and supportive care to children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and provide therapeutic interventions for patients and families, utilizing theories of human growth and development, family systems, and biopsychosocial models.
  • Focus on helping children and adolescents master challenging life events through promotion of play, education, and preparation throughout the healthcare experience.
  • Support the children's emergency department and trauma center, working four-hour shifts per week.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Family and Child Studies, or related field.
  • Successful completion of a specific child life student internship.
  • Maintain professional certification as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or be eligible to sit for the CCLS exam and successfully complete within the first year of employment.
  • Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
