Penrose Orthopedic Surgical Unit:
At Penrose Hospital, a recognized Magnet facility, the Orthopedic Surgical Unit features 24 rooms and 26 beds. Our specialty encompasses orthopedic, trauma, and neurosurgery care. We attend to elective orthopedic patients undergoing knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as orthopedic trauma cases. Additionally, we manage some neurosurgery instances, primarily subdural bleeds and spinal surgeries. During periods of low surgical volume, we may also accommodate medical patients. Our mission is to deliver care guided by the Golden Rule.

Our unit experiences significant patient turnover, making it an exciting and fast-paced setting.

As an RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively assist the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and departmental functions for the unit. - Demonstrating sound clinical judgment and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to each patient.

- Acting as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

You will serve as a professional role model for all staff by exemplifying ethical, legal, and professional nursing practices.

Promoting the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act is essential.

As an active member of the unit, you may take on patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity. You will be personally accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
