Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, chief complaint, and vital signs, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist physicians with basic patient care, including wound care, casting, and splinting.
  • Provide patient education on office policies, medications, and management of pain/injury/disease.
  • Coordinate patient care with team members, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a clean and organized exam/procedure room, stocking and sterilizing instruments as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling surgery appointments and sending reminders to patients.
  • Complete and send surgery paperwork, answering questions from patients and physicians as needed.
Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a medical assistant, with 2+ years of recent experience in a hand/arm clinic or with a hand/arm provider.
  • Strong focus on patient quality and customer service.
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.
  • Limited Scope Operator X-ray License in Colorado.
  • Experience with Allscripts.
Working Conditions
  • Typical clinical office and exam/procedure room environment.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinical settings.
  • Frequent standing, typing, and reading paper and electronic documents.
  • Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form.
  • Able to frequently stoop, lift, carry, and push/pull 15 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds.
