About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team as a Travel CMA. This exciting opportunity allows you to travel locally, working in various Good Samaritan Society locations within a 150-mile radius from your home address.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional care and support to residents, ensuring their physical and psychological needs are met. As a Travel CMA, you will have the flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings, while enjoying competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, and no contract requirement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications as delegated by licensed nurses, adhering to state regulations.
  • Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate changing conditions, medication follow-ups, and care-related concerns/responses to charge nurses.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain living areas' cleanliness and operability.
  • Assist with wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • A minimum age of 18, with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits annually.
  • Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications when applicable.
  • North Dakota and Iowa require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Minnesota requires nursing assistant certification, completion of the 75-hour course, and registration with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
  • South Dakota requires successful completion of the state-approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course.
