Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Machine Tool Field Service Engineer to join our team at Porta North America. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional with expertise in metal cutting machinery service and strong understanding of CNC and PLC programming, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and metal cutting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair production metal cutting machines at customer sites across North America.
  • Install new machines and prepare them for demonstration and testing at our North American office.
  • Collaborate with service technicians from the production factories during machine installations.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on customer machines.
  • Interact with customers regarding service and spare parts needs.
  • Assist in office work, such as spare parts shipments and teleservice, when not traveling.
Qualifications
  • Experience with machinery, preferably metal cutting machinery service.
  • Understanding of CNC and PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems.
  • Familiarity with metal cutting, including cutting tools and processes.
  • Able to travel 50-60% of the time, with occasional weekend stays.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills.
About Us

Porta North America is a well-established North American office of a European metal cutting machine tool builder and importer. We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
