Role Summary:

The Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will provide expert systems engineering capabilities for the deployment, migration, and management of client infrastructures, both on-premises and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will possess intermediate skills in networking and cloud computing, particularly within VMware, Microsoft Active Directory, Private Cloud, Azure, and AWS platforms. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring a robust understanding of cloud technologies and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical delivery and implementation of systems related to the development, integration, and migration of Public and Private Cloud services.
  • Configure servers, manage Active Directory, Exchange, and facilitate all phases of migrations and upgrades for on-premises or public cloud resources.
  • Lead the discovery, design, and execution of Office365 email migrations from on-premises Microsoft Exchange environments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate closure of scheduled service and project tickets within the ConnectWise PSA platform.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate network issues, including connectivity, latency, and performance challenges.
  • Manage customer networks, including firewalls and switching environments, collaborating with the dedicated network team for escalations or architectural needs.
  • Administer servers, storage, and virtualization environments.
  • Provide advanced support for Active Directory, including Domain Controller upgrades, Group Policy creation, software deployments, and network policy maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Technology Managers, Service Desk, Engineering, and other client support teams as a tier 3 escalation point.
  • Document processes and procedures to enhance our internal knowledge base, including architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Conduct audits of undocumented client environments and offer technical recommendations based on findings.
  • Implement best-practice configurations for client security platforms, including Azure Active Directory Conditional Access and multifactor authentication services.
  • Perform system maintenance tasks, including software and operating system patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Utilize common technology support tools such as Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) and Anti-Virus solutions.
  • Participate in project status calls and be part of the on-call rotation for technical support.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned clients, fostering strong relationships and proactively addressing their needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, delivering, and supporting various network and cloud environments (Private, Public, Multi-Cloud – AWS/Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows server environments supporting at least 50 users.
  • Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting an Exchange email environment.
  • Solid understanding of Office365 migrations and Azure migrations.
  • Proficient in both Windows and Mac OS environments.
  • Experience with VMware environments, including vCenter and vSAN.
  • Knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, and security appliance technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and systems requirements.
  • Ability to manage SPAM filtering solutions.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAN Storage and VMWare/Hyper V configurations.
  • Familiarity with Converged and Hyper-Converged Technologies.
  • Experience with VMWare Horizon infrastructure.
  • Previous experience with ConnectWise ecosystem.
  • Scripting or automation skills.
  • Relevant certifications from Microsoft, VMWare, or Cisco.

Performance Metrics:

  • Client satisfaction rate of 90% or higher.
  • Annual KPI of 1700 engineering hours.
  • Service Ticket compliance of 95% or higher.
