Role Summary

This is a strategic and visionary leadership role that requires a seasoned professional with expertise in institutional advancement, marketing, and communications. The ideal candidate will have progressive experience within the Washington community and technical college system.

The Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) reports to the President and serves as the primary liaison between the College and the community. This role plays an integral part in the College's operational administration, advising the President, Board of Trustees, and other senior leaders on all development, marketing, and communications matters.

The VPIA is responsible for coordinating all strategic and crisis communications, and serves as a senior spokesperson for the institution. This position also oversees the Institutional Advancement Division, which includes the Bellevue College Foundation, Marketing & Communications, 91.3 KBCS Radio, and the College Website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the College's mission and goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Institutional Advancement Division.
  • Coordinate all strategic and crisis communications.
  • Serve as a senior spokesperson for the institution.
  • Advise the President, Board of Trustees, and other senior leaders on all development, marketing, and communications matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and community partners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution in philanthropy, communications, marketing, public administration, educational leadership, or a related field.
  • Graduate degree and/or equivalent credential preferred, ideally in an appropriate and relevant field of study.
  • Demonstrated expertise in institutional advancement, marketing, and communications, especially within strategic and crisis communication.
  • Progressive experience within the Washington community and technical college system preferred.
