Position Summary

The HVAC Maintenance Specialist II is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and installation of designated HVAC and refrigeration systems, chilled water networks, boilers, and various mechanical, electrical, and structural systems, ensuring adherence to client specifications and expectations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must hold a valid, unexpired driver's license
  • Must fulfill all requirements to obtain necessary site badges, including successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Must possess an HVAC license valid in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Must have EPA Universal certification credentials
  • Must have completed refrigeration/HVAC vocational training or certification
  • Preferred experience of three (3) to four (4) years in HVAC
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an HVAC Journeyman is mandatory
  • High School Diploma or equivalent educational qualification (GED)
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials utilized in HVAC services and facility maintenance.
  • Understanding of CMMS software systems and processes.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent leadership qualities along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding wiring diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of activities performed and complete basic reporting.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and client representatives.
  • Ensures all work areas are left clean, organized, and safe.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and adhere to fire, safety, and emergency protocols. Reports any unsafe conditions to a supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFC Certification is preferred
  • Technical school graduate in HVAC or Mechanical Technology is preferred.
  • Preferred experience of three (3) to four (4) years in HVAC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and adjust pilots, thermostats, burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches, and electrical systems
  • Utilize standard HVAC tools in daily operations (e.g., multimeter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, hand tools, etc.)
  • Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
  • Identify potential maintenance issues on equipment
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems
  • Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services
  • Execute emergency repairs swiftly and effectively
  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training
  • Maintain daily logs and records of all maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Adhere to service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements
  • Assist with customer inquiries and concerns
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned
