Job Summary

The Medical Compounding Specialist will provide clinical support services and sterile compounding of infusion therapies under the direction of a pharmacist, and in compliance with state board of pharmacy's sterile compounding and pharmacy practice regulations.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sterile Preparation: Prepare and compound sterile IV solutions under the direction of the pharmacist and in compliance with current regulations and standards.
  • Clinical Support: Provide clinical support services necessary for the dispensing of injectable and oral medications used to support our core business offerings.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels and perform receiving and storage of medications and supplies from vendors.
  • Data Entry: Perform efficient data entry of pertinent patient and prescription information into company's pharmacy software system, as allowed by BOP regulations.
  • Clean Room Maintenance: Perform all cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policy and state BOP regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in company's quality assurance and performance improvement program.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or as required by the BOP.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year sterile compounding experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, excellent sterile compounding technique, basic to intermediate efficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and education assistance program.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Must be able to participate in on-call rotation.
