Patient Care Assistant Trainee

Join American Senior Communities as a Patient Care Assistant Trainee and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This position serves as an excellent foundation for advancing to a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role.
Daily Responsibilities of a Patient Care Assistant Trainee:
- Support in preparing resident sleeping areas.
- Safely transport residents in wheelchairs to various activities, dining areas, and therapy sessions.
- Distribute protective clothing to residents during mealtimes.
- Assist with setting up dining areas, including coffee and beverage service.
- Deliver food trays to residents, while not engaging in feeding tasks.
- Ensure that clean ice water pitchers and cups are available and filled in each resident's room at least once per shift.
- Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the unit, including cleaning pantry areas, utility rooms, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, and bedside tables, while organizing personal items.
- Transport soiled laundry to the appropriate location for cleaning or repair.
- Fill linen carts and distribute linens to residents as needed.
- Engage in or assist with resident activities.
- Promptly report any unusual occurrences or significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral conditions to the Unit Charge Nurse.
- Adhere to privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records, in compliance with state and federal laws, including HIPAA.
- Follow the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated by safety standards.
- Utilize and maintain provided protective equipment, ensuring safety in all tasks.
- Exhibit teamwork and consistent attendance to guarantee high-quality care and services for our residents.
