Job Description:


L3Harris's Palm Bay location is seeking a skilled Software Quality Engineer to join the Software Quality Engineering team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

This Software Quality Engineer will analyze reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, and field data. They will investigate the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. The engineer will participate in material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities. They will interface with software and firmware engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of quality records that document the quality status of material/products and provide necessary information and cumulative data for internal and external customer responses.
  • Chair the PMRB to disposition discrepant hardware throughout the manufacturing process (supplier defects through field support).
  • Work closely with the program teams and the functional to ensure that all phases of the customer life cycle, from early customer involvement through post-delivery support, meet the requirements for mission success.
  • Analyze defects and non-conformances with quality control inspectors and manufacturing engineering.
  • Participate in Scrum processes, code peer reviews, and perform code analysis as part of software verification activities.
  • Utilize quality metrics including Cost of Poor Quality to improve yields and reduce rework during engineering and manufacturing efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related field.
  • Security Clearance required upon hire: Ability to Obtain.
  • Preferred Additional Skills:
    • Quality Trend Analysis and previous RCCA experience.
    • Experience working with multi-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations).
    • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
