Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal counsel and support to clients in estate planning, trust administration, probate litigation, and tax matters.
  • Perform legal research, assess both standard and intricate estate planning and tax issues, and devise effective solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Draft and evaluate legal documents, including wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, and other pertinent legal instruments.
  • Prepare various tax returns, including personal, corporate, and fiduciary.
  • Advocate for clients in estate and trust disputes, litigation proceedings, and tax assessments.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients' legal and financial needs.
  • Remain informed about developments in estate planning methodologies, tax regulations, and legal standards to provide precise and current advice to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution and admission to the Michigan State Bar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, or probate litigation and tax law.
  • In-depth understanding of estate planning strategies, probate processes, trust management, and federal and state tax regulations.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to clients.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in document preparation.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain robust client relationships.
