Breast Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our Breast Medical Oncology team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to outpatient breast cancer patients, including history and physical examination, laboratory results, and charting of clinical findings.
  • Apply advanced practice knowledge to identify, prevent, or solve complex and/or recurring breast cancer patient care problems.
  • Follow and manage patients in collaboration with the collaborating physician, improving continuity of care.
  • Perform specialized procedures particular to the select oncology population, mutually agreed upon with the collaborating physician.
  • Collaborate with staff and physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care, coordinate resources, and write appropriate orders.
  • Educate patients regarding various breast cancer issues associated with chemotherapy or immunotherapy regimens.
  • Indications and interpretation of radiology, pathology, and laboratory results.
  • Understand the sophisticated medical environments of cancer patients, including those with advanced malignancy or organ dysfunction.
  • Write orders in accord with current guidelines, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or completion of NCCPA program.
  • Current licensure in the commonwealth of Massachusetts as a registered NP/PA.
  • Current certification as a nurse practitioner in appropriate specialty to care for adult patients.
  • 2 Years Advanced Practice experience preferred; prior hematology/oncology experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Epic and EMRs preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical trials preferred.
