Breast Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join our Breast Medical Oncology team at Mass General Brigham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
As an Advanced Practice Nurse in Breast Medical Oncology, you will be responsible for providing direct care to outpatient breast cancer patients. This will include performing patient histories and physical examinations, acquiring and coordinating laboratory results, and ordering and charting clinical findings in the EMR. You will also apply advanced practice knowledge to identify, prevent, or solve complex and/or recurring breast cancer patient care problems. Additionally, you will follow and manage patients in collaboration with MDs, improving continuity of care. You will perform specialized procedures particular to the select oncology population mutually agreed upon with collaborating physicians. You will collaborate with staff and physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate resources and write appropriate orders improving access to care, establishing goals for the delivery of care to patients, participating in clinical research, and managing communications between physicians, patients, family, and staff. You will also educate patients regarding a variety of breast cancer issues associated with chemotherapy or immunotherapy regimens. You will understand the sophisticated medical environments of cancer patients including, but not limited to, those with advanced malignancy or organ dysfunction. You will write orders in accord with current guidelines including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. You will maintain and practice in accord with practice guidelines per state and hospital regulations.
Requirements
We are looking for an Advanced Practice Nurse with a Master's degree in Nursing or completion of NCCPA program, current licensure in the commonwealth of Massachusetts as a registered NP/PA, and current certification as a nurse practitioner in appropriate specialty to care for adult patients. Two years of Advanced Practice experience is preferred, as is prior hematology/oncology experience. Proficiency with Epic and EMRs is preferred, as is familiarity with clinical trials. May indirectly provide leadership and mentorship to less seasoned and new staff. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by optimally using Mass General Brigham resources.
