You will work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist or experienced CRNA, who will be available during the entire course of anesthesia. Your primary responsibilities will include determining age-specific anesthesia plans, communicating effectively with patients and medical staff, and applying theoretical concepts to clinical practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine age-specific anesthesia plans prior to induction
  • Communicate effectively throughout anesthetic episode
  • Apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice
  • Continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in anesthesia care
  • Utilize discretion and independent judgment in the delivery of whole-person care
  • Practice within the CRNA scope of practice and follow LLUMC policies, protocols, techniques, guidelines, and state and federal regulations
  • Contribute to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia required
  • Clinical experience providing anesthesia care as a CRNA or student nurse anesthetist within the last twelve months preferred
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
