Job Title: Utility Scale Solar Project Developer

We are seeking an experienced Utility Scale Solar Project Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Utility Scale team, you will be responsible for leading the development of utility-scale solar projects across the Mid-West and NY markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and develop large utility-scale solar projects
  • Understand and navigate clean energy policy to create market opportunities
  • Lead site origination, site control negotiation, project permitting, utility interconnection, and tax agreement negotiation
  • Craft a compelling value proposition that reflects avoided cost, load profile, applicable tariffs, and layered revenue streams
  • Develop and implement effective lead campaign strategies in collaboration with junior business development staff
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with site owners, energy users, and other project stakeholders
  • Effective communication with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives
  • Manage development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective projects
  • Manage external consultants as needed in conjunction with project permitting activities
  • Foster support from state, county, and local governments, community groups, and abutters
  • Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction
  • Develop sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts
Requirements:
  • Three or more years of energy industry experience in a business development role, with at least one year in Utility Scale development
  • Integration of PV and energy storage systems preferred
  • Commercial real estate prospecting and business model understanding
  • Effective team leader and collaborator
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
What We Offer:
