Role Purpose:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for providing patient care that ensures the safety and welfare of all individuals. In a Charge Nurse capacity, the RN will oversee staff assignments as required. This role involves offering guidance and support to team members, including LPNs, CNAs, and other non-licensed staff, while delivering direct patient care, aiding in the orientation of new employees, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to address patient needs.
Operational Responsibilities:
The RN will assist in managing the nursing unit's operations during their shift, working under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and adhering to the relevant professional nursing regulations. Proficiency in both verbal and written communication is essential, as is the ability to operate a personal computer.
Physical Requirements:
The role demands the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift, push, bend, and carry loads up to 50 pounds, and assist in moving patients. Concentration is necessary despite frequent interruptions, and emotional maturity is crucial for effective functioning under stress.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Professional Nursing, with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience in a hospital or medically related setting, with a focus on Radiologic care.
Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Georgia. Current CPR certification is required, or completion of a CPR course (AHA) within 60 days of employment. ACLS certification is also necessary, or must be obtained within 90 days of employment; PALS certification is preferred.
Work Environment:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The RN must be adept at using a personal computer and be capable of performing physical tasks associated with patient care.
