Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Grocery Clerk to join our team at Brookville Hometown Market. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring accurate inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, provide product information, and offer recommendations to enhance the shopping experience.
  2. Inventory Management: Conduct physical counts, identify items for reorder, and restock shelves to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  3. Store Maintenance: Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles, and ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  4. Merchandise Handling: Receive, stock, and rotate merchandise, and ensure accurate pricing and labeling.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues to achieve sales goals, resolve customer issues, and maintain a positive store atmosphere.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail or grocery experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
Work Environment

This role requires working in a team environment, interacting with customers, and standing for extended periods. You will be exposed to varying temperatures while working in different areas of the store.
