Patient Care Registered Nurse RN

SALARY RANGE: 34.27 - 56.01HOURLY
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within a assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill, are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and nursing philosophy.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified populations of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
- Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence, which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
- Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans.
- Participate in decision-making and take actions based on ethical principles.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education: Bachelor Degree, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent.
- Credential(s): Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support, and ACLS/PALS (as required).
- Experience: Required: 1-2 years of experience in a relevant specialty. Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in a relevant specialty.
Preferred Education, Credential(s), and Experience:
- Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
- Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a relevant specialty.
