About the RoleAs a Day Habilitation Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to foster meaningful relationships between the individuals and their community, while also assisting with daily living and independence skills.
Responsibilities- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
- Monitor and report any health or medical concerns
- Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills
- Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals
- Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of program activities
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
