We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Histotech Medical Assistant/Scribe to join our team at Dermatology Employment, LLC. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dermatologists in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Analytical Services
    • Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by our dermatologists.
    • Perform gross dissection, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting of tissue specimens.
  • Microscopic Examination
    • Examine slides under a microscope to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements.
    • Identify and report abnormalities that may require further study.
  • Supportive Services
    • Operate computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate tissue specimens.
    • Label requisitions, specimen containers, cassettes, and slides.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, including computerized records.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • File, retrieve, and distribute blocks, slides, and pathology reports.
    • Monitor quality control programs and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Patient Communication
    • Communicate with patients via phone and in-person.
    • Assist with procedures and provide patient education.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, with some college preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mohs Technician, with Histotechnology School preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position in a clinic setting, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule. We offer a competitive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, dental insurance, and paid time off.
