Aurora Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead our LiDAR development program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge electrical systems for our LiDAR technology.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of electrical engineers in the development of LiDAR electronics, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define hardware architecture, and deliver LiDAR electronics that meet performance and product metrics.
- Guide and manage the team to build, integrate, test, and debug LiDAR electronics, leveraging software tools and advanced test equipment.
- Mature processes for electrical engineering product development, adhering to safety, execution, and quality requirements.
- Partner with mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature high-quality electrical designs for manufacturing, including supporting test infrastructure development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or computer engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware.
- 4+ years of direct personnel leadership of electrical engineering teams, including hiring, establishing best practices, managing performance, and growth.
- Expertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high-speed signaling, grounding, and analog electronics.
- High proficiency in analyzing systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints.
- Extensive experience with hardware productization, including system, board, and chip-level implementation.
- Experience with LiDAR and photonics principles.
- Knowledge of automotive requirements, safety framework (ISO26262), and qualification processes.
- Experience with both rapid prototyping and design for manufacturing.
- Programming and scripting experience (C++, Python, or equivalent).
- FPGA/ASIC design experience.
