Laboratory Biologist for Emergency Response

Amentum is seeking a Laboratory Biologist to support emergency response efforts in Ewing, NJ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work involving microbiological and molecular techniques, including DNA extraction and real-time PCR. Your expertise in handling biological samples and conducting quality control/quality assurance activities will ensure the accuracy and reliability of our results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling, receipt, and processing of operational, QA, and special event samples
  • Performing non-research biological science work utilizing microbiological and molecular techniques
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Decontamination of workspaces, including Biological Safety Cabinets
  • Maintaining chain-of-custody
  • Interpretation of results
  • Data entry using computerized systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, or related field
  • At least one year of laboratory bench experience outside of academia
  • Biological Safety Level (BSL)-3 experience desirable

Amentum offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
