Senior Vocational Nurse

At the University of California, Irvine, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a Senior Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and conducting medical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct health assessments, identify health risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of California.
- At least 1 year of experience working in acute, ambulatory, or urgent care settings.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- IV Therapy certification.
- Immunization administration and PPD skin test administration certification.
- General knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Basic knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology, including medical terminology.
- Experience working in a school or university health center.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, and maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information.
