Senior Vocational Nurse

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Senior Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our medical center.
Responsibilities- Coordinates with Medical Center personnel to effectively and timely implement the plan of care, including scheduling initial consultations, referrals, follow-up appointments, and ancillary services.
- Conducts effective patient/family teaching and documents all patient education.
- Collects, labels, and sends to laboratory for analysis specimens such as sputum and urine, and appropriately communicates and documents lab results.
- Assesses and documents the patient's physical and psychosocial condition initially and on an ongoing basis, accurately evaluates and documents the patient/family response to care, and documents patient observations/care appropriately in the computer, on the flow sheets, or wherever appropriate.
- Administers patient treatments or procedures in a safe, effective, and age-appropriate manner, and in compliance with all policies, protocols, and regulations.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Minimum 6 months experience working as an LVN in an acute care setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Understanding of JCAHO requirements.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.
- LVN (Required)
- BLS (Required)
