Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Centered Health. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to adolescents in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide line-of-sight supervision to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Complete house-related chores as assigned, maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
  • Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness by completing all required training, staying up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Provide crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary, utilizing de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain active participation with clients, fostering positive relationships and encouraging open communication.
  • Prepare and monitor medication administration, documenting all details in our electronic medical record system.
  • Document clients' nightly activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information, providing valuable insights for treatment planning.
  • Maintain open communication with staff, therapists, and Program Directors, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • Encourage clients to promote positive interactions among peers, creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as delegated by Program Directors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in social sciences or a related field.
  • RAD-T certification is preferred, but not required; we offer training and support for those who are interested.
  • At least one year of experience in the social services field or patient care experience, with a proven track record of providing high-quality support services.
  • A valid California driver's license and a clean driving record, with the ability to pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a physical and TB test, with a willingness to undergo regular health screenings.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications are required, but can be earned through our organization prior to your start date, if needed.
  • A genuine desire to work with adolescents, with a passion for making a positive impact in their lives.
  • Good judgment, a positive attitude, dependability, and confidentiality, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of regulations concerning mental health treatment is a plus, with a working knowledge of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and treatment procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, and Program Directors.
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet, email, and MS Word, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, with a willingness to participate in physical activities and support clients as needed.
Benefits

This position comes with a hiring/retention bonus of $1,000, paid in two installments of $500 each, at the completion of 30 and 90 days, respectively. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
