The Tax Supervisor is a key member of the Boston University's Financial Affairs department, responsible for overseeing the preparation of tax documents, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, and managing the department's tax-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of tax returns, estimates, and other tax-related correspondence for the University.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside tax professionals and software providers.
  • Perform tax research and analysis to identify potential tax reporting requirements and liabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Investment Office and Office of Global Programs to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance tax compliance and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to analyze data and determine relevant conclusions.
Preferred Skills:
  • CPA certification.
  • Experience with ERP and/or SAP systems.
  • Experience in non-profit industry or higher education.
