As a Vice President of Estimating, you will oversee the entire estimating department, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of competitive estimates for all projects. Foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Estimating to lead our estimating team and drive the success of our diverse and high-value projects. This role requires a visionary thinker who thrives in a dynamic environment, fostering innovation and efficiency while guiding a team of estimators to deliver accurate and competitive bids.

Detailed Job Description:

  • Leadership & Strategic Oversight: Oversee the entire estimating department, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of competitive estimates for all projects.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine estimating processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and competitiveness.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term estimating strategies that support the company's growth objectives and project portfolio.
  • Client Relations & Stakeholder Management
    • Client Engagement: Serve as the key point of contact for major clients during the estimating phase, ensuring clear communication of project scopes and expectations.
    • Vendor & Subcontractor Relationships: Establish and maintain partnerships with key vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality services.

About You:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with 15+ years of relevant experience in estimating within the construction industry. A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required. Technical skills include proficiency in estimating software and construction management tools, as well as strong command of MS Office (especially Excel) and project management software.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in project management and/or construction management
  • Ability to read design drawings, structural drawings, and plan sets
  • Fast-track building construction experience is a plus
  • Experience in heavy industrial construction preferred
  • Experience managing budgets for large construction projects
  • Basic understanding of contracts and entitlements
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • AutoCAD, Inventor, and Viewpoint Spectrum experience is a plus

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and experience.
