Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the City of East Point, GA. As a key member of our water treatment plant maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our water treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Assist Maintenance Staff: Supervise and work with maintenance staff to ensure the effective maintenance of water treatment plant equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain a Clean Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to industry regulations and standards.
  • Develop and Implement Preventive Maintenance Programs: Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to ensure the optimal performance of water treatment plant equipment.
  • Perform Manual and Physical Labor: Perform a variety of manual and physical labor tasks, including lifting, pushing, and handling equipment and materials.
  • Communicate with Supervisors and Colleagues: Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to receive advice, instructions, and directions.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Equipment: Troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, as well as low and medium voltage electric systems.
  • Monitor and Replenish Supplies: Monitor the availability of parts and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Provide 24-Hour On-Call Emergency Duty: Provide 24-hour on-call emergency duty, troubleshooting and making minor repairs as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver's License: Must possess a valid State of Georgia driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Water Supply and Treatment: Knowledge of water supply, treatment, distribution, facility operations, and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Trade: Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, hazards, and safety practices of the mechanical trade.
  • Ability to Establish and Maintain Relationships: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, and vendors.
