Position: Continuous Improvement Engineer

Overview:

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency within a large-scale manufacturing environment. Your expertise will be crucial in conducting thorough analyses of cycle times and identifying bottlenecks, as well as mapping waste and optimizing processes to drive improvements in throughput, quality, and yield.

Key Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, Mechatronics, or Mechanical preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in roles such as Continuous Improvement Engineer, Process Engineer, or Mechatronics Engineer.
  • Proficient understanding of continuous manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Experience with raw materials and their processing.
  • Strong ability to establish credibility across all levels of the manufacturing organization.
  • Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven track record of applying structured thinking to complex challenges.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently to meet goals.
  • Proficient in driving change and fostering relationships with stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a tech-savvy mindset.
  • Experience in Process Engineering, including skills in writing process descriptions and designing P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, project management, and process commissioning.
  • Experience in laboratory and in-process testing.
  • Familiarity with 6 Sigma/Lean principles and their application in manufacturing settings.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the plant Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) network to enhance quality, efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Identify and address performance gaps in yield, uptime, speed, and quality through targeted projects.
  • Benchmark current processes against industry best practices.
  • Enhance process capabilities through improved operational practices, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Monitor key process metrics and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage small to medium-scale capital projects aimed at process improvement.
  • Conduct financial analysis and justification for projects.
  • Ensure all technical tasks adhere to quality, safety, and project management standards.
  • Deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide engineering support for large-scale capital projects, including design reviews and commissioning assistance.
  • Engage with plant Quality Managers and engineers in process audits.
  • Support improvement initiatives identified through audit processes.
