Position Summary:
The Lead Project Improvement Specialist is essential in promoting a culture of ongoing enhancement within our operational teams. This role utilizes established methodologies to implement the Butterball Operating System Solution (BOSS), ensuring operational excellence.
The individual will lead initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, production yields, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the Supply Chain and Operational Excellence Team (SCOPE) to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to effectively manage change and ensure engagement throughout the improvement initiatives.
- Document and maintain continuous improvement processes and best practices to standardize operations.
- Provide training on essential continuous improvement tools to empower team members.
- Coordinate and execute improvement projects aligned with business objectives.
- Support activities integral to the continuous improvement transformation and BOSS implementations.
- Utilize value stream mapping to optimize production flow and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct Gemba walks and serve as a primary contact for continuous improvement-related inquiries.
- Develop and implement standard work processes to ensure operational consistency.
- Oversee the use of visual management tools to promote transparency and accountability.
- Lead problem-solving projects to address operational challenges impacting efficiency.
- Facilitate the 5S process to enhance workplace organization and efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A thorough understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret data for decision-making.
- Proven experience in leading continuous improvement projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and ERP systems.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Working Environment:
This role involves both office and plant environments, with potential exposure to varying conditions. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to travel may be required.
