Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is as follows:
$113,790 - $141,276 for the 320.1 level
$137,640 - $170,904 for the 320.2 level

Please note that these figures are guidelines and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to deliver advanced cyber support across various unclassified and classified networks, security systems, and user access management. In this role, you will act as an Organizational Information Systems Security Officer (OISSO), overseeing intricate security strategies and configurations.

Your responsibilities will include conducting audit self-assessments, managing security projects, and collaborating with team members and stakeholders to address complex cybersecurity challenges efficiently.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive documentation packages in compliance with the Federal Information System Management Act (FISMA) while liaising with government entities.
  • Execute advanced security tasks including vulnerability remediation, log audits, and policy documentation.
  • Assess information systems for compliance and work closely with system administrators to uphold security standards.
  • Oversee account authorization processes and approve cybersecurity-related procurements.
  • Engage with clients to design secure on-premises or cloud environments.
  • Conduct cybersecurity evaluations to assess adherence to LLNL/DOE policies and industry standards.
  • Effectively communicate with senior management regarding cybersecurity incidents, requirements, and project updates.
  • Support initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in information security, particularly in roles such as Information Systems Security Officer.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity tools for auditing, compliance, and continuous monitoring.
  • Proven ability to enhance operational efficiencies through process improvements.
  • Experience in prioritizing and resolving complex issues in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
  • Strong technical background in system administration, networking, cybersecurity, or related IT fields.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISA, CISM, or CCSP.
  • Understanding of business operations including finance, budgeting, and human resources.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation tools like ServiceNow.

Security Clearance Requirement

This role necessitates a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. Selected candidates will undergo a Federal background investigation to determine eligibility for access to classified information.
