Cornerstone Custodian

East Side House Settlement is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cornerstone Custodian to join our team. As a Cornerstone Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff, clients, and visitors.

• Report to a Lead Custodian and assist with the direction of housekeeping services in the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, bathrooms, and other high-touch areas using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
• Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, and vacuums.
• Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.
• Lock and unlock assigned buildings, securing the building when facilities are not in use.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, using them as directed.
• Perform cleaning and related activities, such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
• Wash accessible interior and exterior windows, clean blinds, and launder cleaning rags and dust mops.

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalence (HSE).
• Experience in maintenance preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual labor.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

This is a part-time position, working Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Workdays and hours are subject to change based on East Side House Settlement's needs.
