Job Overview

We're currently seeking an experienced Roadway Inspector to join our team in the San Diego, CA area. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the highest quality construction work on our projects, including inspections, documentation, and coordination with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily inspections and complete documentation, including daily reports and photographs.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Assist Resident Engineers and provide input on project schedule, extra work bills, and potential change orders.
  • Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor construction for compliance with project documents and collect material tags and certificates of compliance.
  • Measure and document quantities of installed materials.
  • Inspect road and bridge construction, including checking grades, formwork, rebar placement, and concrete batch tickets.
  • Communicate with project team members and provide recommendations.
Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 2-year associate's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • 3-5+ years of progressively responsible experience in roadway construction inspection or 6-8+ years of general construction experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in construction inspection applications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as CalOsha, SWPPP, and Caltrans standards.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the salary range for this position is $116,000 - $185,037 per year, depending on experience, education, and other factors.
