Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist is a key member of our dynamic inpatient acute rehabilitation team, serving patients with stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other medical conditions or injuries causing significant functional and/or cognitive impairment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication.
  • Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
  • Assists with clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and serves as clinical instructor for assigned students.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • SP-Licensed Speech Pathologist - California Department of Consumer Affairs Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Valid Drivers License Class C- State Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Automobile Insurance.

  • Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirement.
  • Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities.
  • Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.
  • Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.

Full-time position with variable days and as needed Saturday shifts.
