POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Scheduler is accountable for the management and oversight of project timelines. This role includes the responsibility for the organization, updating, and maintenance of designated project schedules. The Lead Scheduler will manage the schedule files system and ensure the accurate posting and reporting of schedules and resource plans as necessary. This position also entails overseeing the configuration of Earned Value Management (EVM) data within the assigned project schedules as needed, while ensuring standardization of schedules and EVM data in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Scheduling Manager and Master Scheduler.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Uphold and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure the development and upkeep of project schedules.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of work center master schedules.
- Support and maintain supplemental schedules that align with project objectives.
- Develop and manage long-term production resource plans.
- Comply with scheduling and resource planning standards.
- Generate and maintain schedule-related EVM data and documentation.
- Directly supervise the activities of assigned Project Scheduler(s).
- Aid in the development and maintenance of schedule-related EVMS data and documentation.
- Facilitate internal and external communication to address information requests from customers and stakeholders.
This position directly supervises 1 to 3 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving issues. The Lead Scheduler is expected to demonstrate leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree with at least four (4) years of relevant experience, or a High School diploma with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required, or at least three years of progressive responsibility within a Planning department.
- Experience in a complex, multi-product, build-to-order production environment, focusing on the creation of project and master schedules and resource plans is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and network scheduling software (such as Primavera) is preferred.
- Knowledge of EVM is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
- Willingness to work in both office and industrial settings.
- Preferred knowledge of shipbuilding workflows, material flows, and production processes.
- Preferred understanding of Navy and Coast Guard scheduling and performance reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding workflows, material processing, and basic shipbuilding knowledge is preferred, along with knowledge of Navy and Coast Guard scheduling.
