About the Role

FM Global is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Engineer II to join our team in Western Michigan. As a Consultant Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying property hazards and delivering practical solutions to minimize or eliminate risks at insured client facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to protect clients' assets
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective risk management and communication
  • Develop long-lasting relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor and consultant within your field
  • Prepare technical engineering reports and communicate key risks and priorities to support clients in making sound risk management decisions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (varies engineering disciplines considered); a chemical engineering background is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in heavy industry, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on understanding of various chemical and mechanical production processes and support systems
  • Experience in process safety practices and safety devices
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, geared towards a consulting role
