Job Overview:
This position involves administrative responsibilities related to the development and oversight of the Affirmative Action Plan, ensuring adherence to both state and federal regulations. The role operates under the general supervision of the Equal Opportunity Manager and is characterized by a deep understanding of Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Minority Business Enterprise, and Diversity regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, implement, and monitor annual Affirmative Action Plans for various departments.
- Review and approve job descriptions from an Equal Opportunity perspective.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and management to create targeted recruitment strategies.
- Evaluate recruitment plans submitted by hiring managers to ensure alignment with affirmative action goals.
- Serve as a resource for affirmative action issues and coordinate training for supervisors and managers.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, human resources management, pre-law, or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience in Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Minority Business Enterprise, and Diversity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Licenses:
A valid Florida Driver's license is required within thirty days of appointment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to design and manage an Affirmative Action Plan.
- In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations governing equal opportunity.
- Understanding of diversity concepts and effective diversity program characteristics.
- Capability to develop and deliver diversity training and educational programs.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software applications.
Work Environment:
This position may require working outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.
