Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to perform diagnostic testing under the supervision of the Clinical Director. This role demands a high level of skill, including maintaining lab equipment, conducting quality assessments, and efficiently managing workloads.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a positive team environment and foster effective departmental collaboration.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay up-to-date with new concepts and ideas.
  • Perform venipuncture proficiently across patient ages, ensuring specimen quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct testing in designated departments, handle troubleshooting, and adhere to SOP for quality control.
  • Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and maintain confidentiality in releasing results.
  • Participate in competency testing, professional development activities, and maintain certification.
  • Train new employees or students, utilize computer and LIS system effectively, and collaborate positively with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Support the Medical Center's mission and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT or equivalent).
  • Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting results.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, medical staff, and customers.
  • Capable of catering to patients of all ages and understanding their needs and limitations.
  • Familiarity with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within set guidelines.
