About the Role

The Rail Track Maintainer is a critical member of our team at CN, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network. As a Rail Track Maintainer, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our tracks, ensuring that our trains can run safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain rail tracks, including inspecting for damage, wear, and tear
  • Repair and replace rail tracks, ties, switches, and ballasts as needed
  • Operate heavy equipment and machinery to perform maintenance tasks
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following CN's safety policies and procedures
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals

Working Conditions

This role requires working outdoors in various types of weather and environmental conditions. You will be required to lift and carry heavy objects, work at heights, and perform repetitive physical activity. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities.

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience in a similar role or industry
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver's license
