Job Title: Materials Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team at Direct Line Global. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities involved in purchasing materials, products, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) to evaluate, research, and procure materials for projects
  • Create a systematic approach to ordering materials to minimize inventory levels and shipping costs
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with materials vendors
  • Assist with the bidding process by offering pricing schedules for relevant supplies and materials
  • Manage supply-chain issues with suppliers to ensure on-time product availability
  • Document and organize deliveries and product returns
  • Manage purchase orders, maintain purchase order confirmations, and execute special orders
  • Track shipments from purchase order to delivery and manage shipping charges
  • Develop tools and procedures to improve the procurement cycle
  • Provide courteous, professional service to customers

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office
  • Integrated Financial System and/or ERP Software experience, such as Commerce Center, J.D. Edwards, etc.
  • CPM or advanced education in Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
  • Relevant product knowledge
  • Prior negotiating experience helpful
  • Previous experience in the datacenter industry helpful
  • Knowledge and experience working with Copper/Fiber Optic Testing/Cabling Standards a plus
