Job Title: Surgical Recovery Coordinator

At the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Recovery Coordinator to join our team.

About the Role

The Surgical Recovery Coordinator will play a critical role in the donation process, coordinating the surgical recovery portion and ensuring the smooth transition of organs for transplantation.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the surgical recovery process, including setting up the area for organ flushing, measurement, and packaging.
  • Deliver sensitive and compassionate care to patients at the end of life and support their families during this difficult time.
  • Act as a resource and support person to donor hospital staff before, during, and after the organ recovery.
  • Collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a healthcare field, or relevant certification or experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a surgical and/or pre-hospital environment, including surgical recovery coordination, tissue/eye bank specialist, surgical technician, first assistant, or first responder experience.
  • Valid WI Driver's License and current auto insurance upon hire.
