Key Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Supervisor or senior management as necessary, facilitating communication between the Supervisor and team members.
  • Provides leadership to the staff in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Conducts inspections of contracted work as required.
  • Reviews all work orders prior to and following completion.
  • Offers mentoring and training to team members.
  • Assists in the recruitment and training of new hires.
  • Develops training materials and leads training sessions and workshops.
  • Monitors individual and team performance metrics using Maximo (CMMS) and informs supervisors of completed and pending work orders.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to staff.
  • Communicates productivity issues to the Supervisor.
  • Prepares work schedules for the team.
  • Assists with various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participates in meetings related to upcoming work and attends training sessions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • In-depth understanding of occupational hazards and safety measures relevant to the work; ability to prepare estimates and procure materials for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment in assessing operational conditions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate the work of subordinates.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and working in a construction setting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; certifications or professional licenses are preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in the field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Journeyman License (HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical) is required.
  • Experience in facilitating communication between management and staff.
  • Proven ability to motivate team members and promote collaboration.
  • Proficiency in tracking and reporting job performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft products.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential tasks.

Special Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency situations 24/7 as needed.

Starting Salary Range: $50, $88,399.92 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
